Addressing the Gap
When active cancer treatment ends, most survivors expect to feel relief. Instead, many describe a disorienting silence. Appointments slow down. The oncology team steps back. The structure that carried them through treatment is gone and no one prepared them for what comes next.
This is the survivorship gap. Up to 68% of breast cancer survivors report unmet psychosocial needs after treatment ends. Fear of recurrence, fatigue, social isolation, body image changes, and cognitive fog are among the most common and most under-addressed challenges in oncology today.
